Two bikes encountered today

This is the Yamaha TTR 125 that Allison gets to ride on the trail ride at the end of August. No picture of Brad's bike yet, but imagine that its significantly bigger. And scarier. Look for upcoming pictures of the gear that Brad is going to have to buy Al so she doesn't scramble her little brains!

This is a bike that was stopped next to Al at a stop light. Check out the pink goggles on those pups. Now that is what motorcycles are for!

What Allison Did

Um, is that Andrew Reynolds and Jim Greco? Why yes, yes it is. And are they at Peter Pan Park in Lincoln Nebraska? Yes again! And where is Brad? In IOWA of all places.

A Sunday Drive With Hats

Brad and Al put on their cowboy hats and headed to Branched Oak again. This just may be the new Sunday tradition, as long as the weather in Nebraska stays this darned hot and both Brad and Al's air conditioners stay broken.

A Nebesniak Housewarming Party

Here are Brad and Al (and brooke) helping to warm Pat and Amy's new kitchen. There were Twizzlers, Corona in cans, rusty-spoon beer, and photos! Brad was proud of Al and brooke for finishing off their whole 12-pack and getting them all home safely. A great night with friends!

Oh, Mama Cindy

Apparantly, sewing on the butt patch was a little too much. Brad and Al spent time at Bryan East with Mama Cindy after some testing.

Lookin' good in the pale blue hospital gown!

Monday Night Barbeque

Here's Mama Cindy, Brad told her before she could eat his burgers, she had to sew on his butt patch. Mother in laws are cheap slave labor in Brad and Al's household

Brad is quite the chef when it comes to the grill. Notice Al's segregated black bean veggie burger...

Al purchased this corn at the farmer's market. Then she boiled it. Then she checked google and google said she could put it on the grill. The results were delicious! So was the cassarole dish that Mama Cindy brought with the zucchini and cheese and tomato.

Here is the beer that was enjoyed at the BBQ, an organic wheat from New Belgium. Mothership Wit. Yum.

Brad and Al's Semi-Exciting Weekend

On Saturday, the family business acquired something VERY EXCITING...An extremely clearanced Dyson Animal!!! Purely Maid will never be the same again! Allison no longer will have chunks of other peoples floor garbage spit into her eyeballs while attempting to do maintenance work on their crappy vacuums.

Sunday afternoon was all sunshine, beaches and jet-skiing, as the happy twosome spent time at Branched Oak Lake. Brad perfected riding the stand-up while wearing a cowboy hat and Al worked on her tan and read "The Zookeepers Wife".

After the sand was washed off and the swimsuits hung to dry, Brad and Al dined on some tasty noodle dishes (at Noodles) and then spent much too much time and money at HyVee. The highlights of the shopping trip were a Britta water filter, recycled paper towels, and a sweet deal on some Reeces Peanut Butter Cups.

Dropkick Wednesday!

What a line for drinks! Brad and Al had to stock up and drink fast! It was a great night for Irish punk rock, the non-Irish couple and their non-Irish friend brooke. Never was a shower more welcome in the Van Boening household than it was Thursday morning. It was like being on a crazy pogo stick with a thousand other pogo-stickers inside a small sauna at Sokol. And readers beware...The topic of the Van Boenings first written publication was decided upon this evening. It has a lot to do with gas stations of the midwest.

At Brad and Al's age, a birthday party involving firemen should probably also involve some stripping.

But not in this case! The theme of Preston's 4th birthday party was firetrucks and the kids were treated to the real deal! The Lincoln Fire Department came out for a "demonstration" in which the kids got to sit in the firetruck and even spray the hose! Very cool. A good time was had by all, young and old. And Preston made out like a bandit in the gift arena, even scoring an electric fire truck with working water hose and sirens for himself and a passenger.

Chris's (not pictured) 37th birthday celebration. With free beer.

Just ask Cindy, she loves to talk about free beer. Brad and Al spent time at Grata with Pete and Cindy and crazy cousins and Al's bunco friends and their husbands. Oddly enough, the party room next to where Brad and Al were was filled with celebrating strippers who tried their darndest to steal the free beer. Cheap strippers.

Bittersweet

Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless handheld

There is a very kind vet tech living here in Lincoln who wants to adopt the girls (pending approval by an out-of-town fiancee)! Brad and Allison really hope this works out for them, they would go to a great home with another weenie and a doberman. This would also afford them the opportunity to foster some new rescues. This joy is tinged with sadness, though, as the girls are the sweetest little furballs on earth and seeing them progress has been immensely fullfilling. Man, being a foster parent is an emotional trip!

Eames stamps, Eames stamps

Never before in the history of time has Allison been this excited about something that you affix to an envelope. THESE particular stamps will never know the smooth surface of said envelope as they are going to hang on a wall. Like in a museum. Musim, as Brad would say.

A great message from Disney/Pixar and Brad and Al

Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless handheld

Wall-Eee and Eve-a made Brad and Al think a little longer and more in depth this evening about what we consume, recycle, waste, pollute with, etc. They highly recommend the movie. You will never again hold hands with someone without wanting to say out loud "Wall-Eeee! Eve-a!" in squeeky robot voices.

Luther-time at the dogpark

Starting the day off with our longest dog at the Oak Lake dog run

No pain, no gain

Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless handheld

After the dog park, Allison donated blood @ the Community Blood Bank. She has yet to convince Brad of the joys of getting poked without getting paid! Just three more donations till a free t-shirt!
